Biography
Julie Roundtree arrived at LSU in 2023 after teaching English, literature, theatre, and communication classes at a variety of colleges and universities on the east coast. In addition to teaching, Julie is a classically-trained actor and has performed in theatre productions for over twenty years while also garnering some experience in television, film, and voice-over. Locally, Julie frequently performs with Louisiana Shakespeare Company and 225 Theatre Collective. In her spare time, she is a freelance folk and fantasy painter, inspired heavily by Louisiana folk art. Julie's academic research focuses on representations of witches and other magic-wielding beings in contemporary media and how these representations echo society's treatment of marginalized populations.
